What is Corona Virus?
Corona viruses are a large family of viruses that may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, it causes respiratory infections varying from a common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) which affect the lungs. The most recently discovered corona virus causes corona virus disease COVID-19.
How does it spread?
It is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. We can be infected by breathing in the virus if we are close to someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
